This recognition stems from our ongoing support of the local community through various initiatives, including participation on numerous boards and committees. Several years ago, we launched an initiative called “Industry Week,” where we invite groups of students from local school districts, trade schools, and colleges to visit our recycling facility. During these visits, students learn about various careers and opportunities in the area and gain firsthand exposure to the work environment. We typically host a few hundred students each year.

Last year, our team members also donated 70 desks that arrived on one of the ships, which were distributed to three different schools in Mexico.
Additionally, our Brownsville facility donated old equipment and steel materials to local trade schools for training purposes. We also provided a conference table and chairs to Youth Build Brownsville, replacing their worn-out furniture. Youth Build is another organization that brought in two or three groups of students for tours and career discussions. Great job, team!
