Commercial Filter Recycling (CFR) processes drained oil filters for metal reclamation. In business since 1992, CFR handles approximately 50 million filters a year.
By recycling all the oil filters sold annually in the U.S., enough steel would be recovered to make 16 new stadiums the size of Anaheim’s Edison Field.
CFR has two locations to serve California and surrounding states. Our facility in Los Angeles, CA accepts filters in bulk and in drums. CFR Union City, CA receives material in drums only.
Both locations accept single used oil filters and used oil from the public. They pay a $.16 recycling incentive for used oil if guidelines are met.
All processing is done in compliance with the California Code of Regulations, Section 66266.130, Chapter 16, Title 22, Division 4.5. CFR is a current and active member of the National Oil Recyclers Association (NORA).
